celebrating breakfast

Breakfast is, has been, and most likely always will be my favorite meal of the day. (If you follow me on Instagram you have undoubtedly noticed this). Savory, sweet, quick and easy, long and leisurely... I love them all. It's the meal that sets the tone for your entire day, so what's not to celebrate?

Until recently I ate all of my weekday breakfasts alone, mostly at my desk. I kept telling myself I had to do this to save time, and that I didn't mind waiting until I got to work to "enjoy" my morning meal. A shift in my attitude (and the addition to my household of a fellow breakfast-worshipper) has nipped this (three-and-a-half-years-running) habit in the bud. How much time was I really saving by packing my breakfasts at home and taking them to work, eating with one hand and scrolling through emails with another? It's bad enough that some of my lunches are spent this way, why lessen the importance of this daily ritual with distractions?

I'm not saying there won't be mornings when things come up and all we have time for are on-the-go breakfasts. But in the meantime I plan on slowing down, savoring the morning, and starting my days off right.

Yogurt-banana bowls & sunrise juice // Fresh fruit, muffin with jam & French press // Crepes with jam & grapefruit juice // Scrambled eggs with toast & strawberries

My favorite, favorite breakfast these days is Greek yogurt topped with fresh strawberries, drizzled with local honey, and a big matcha latte. Makes me feel good and is pretty to look at, too. And like you, I'm trying to slooowww down in the mornings, and I can really feel the shift in my mental state--it's awesome.

ohmigosh...i love breakfast so much. i do not care how hokey it sounds to say it is the most important meal of the day because it totally is. lately i have been having rice chex with lactose free milk with rasberries and blackberries on top. boom! also eggs rock.

Breakfast is awesome--absolutely my favorite meal of the day! On weekdays, I prefer something like oatmeal or yogurt with fruit and granola. Raspberries and pecans are perfect on breakfast foods! On weekends, I love to make more of a brunch (eggs, pancakes and such) and my husband and I linger over our meal with our favorite tea while doing crossword puzzles :-)

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day also. This includes Brunch. Long leisurly breakfasts with the boyfriend just makes the whole day better. There is nothing like a big glass of OJ, Earl Grey tea, banana pancakes and apple smoked bacon to set you right. I would like to find some more healthy options such as yogurt and a healthy crumble. Just have not found what I like yet. Rice Chex and sliced banana are also my go to fast meal. YUMMMMMM! Thanks so much for sharing!
